Dr. Tippett learned small town values growing up in Vidalia, GA. After graduating high school, he attended Georgia Southern College where he studied pre-med and played football. After serving an eighteen month church mission to Ecuador, South America, he attended Southern College of Optometry in Memphis, TN and graduated in 1991. Afterwards he completed an externship with glaucoma specialist, Dr. Harvey DuBiner, M.D., and became certified in the treatment and management of ocular disease as recognized by the International board of Examiners in Optometry. Dr. Tippett continues to keep abreast of the current treatment for ocular diseases.
Dr Tippett has been in Augusta since 1992. He is married to Denise and they are the parents of four children: Addison, Dallin, Braden, and Jaren. They are members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and support ballet, scouting, swimming and other wholesome community activities.
Dr. Macy Caldwell grew up on Lake Erie in Port Clinton, Ohio. She graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science from Ashland University where she was a track and field All-American Heptathlete and Hurdler. She received her Doctorate in Optometry from the Ohio State University College of Optometry where she completed internships in ocular disease, binocular vision, cataract and laser vision correction management, and contact lenses. In her spare time, she enjoys hiking, climbing, being on the water, coaching track, and cheering on the Georgia Bulldogs.
